NJEF is a statewide organization with over 100,000 members and over 100 membership groups in NJ and a national network of campaign organizers, local groups and allied organizations. We have a 30 year track record of organizing winning campaigns on key issues affecting people, water, waste, toxins and the environment. Our purpose is to promote environmental action at the community level and to create a voice for communities throughout the state.
What would we be doing?
Working in neighborhoods and communities to organize and increase public awareness of local, state and national environmental issues. The focus of our efforts is to:
- Identify voters and volunteers who will work with us to hold politicians accountable for their votes on environmental and health related issues
- Ensuring, by grassroots pressure, plentiful and clean water, stop overdevelopment and promote smart growth
- Plan demonstrations and actions
What are the conditions of work?
Hours are Monday through Friday 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Extensive training is given (first two weeks the hours are 1:30pm to 10:00pm)
Part-time positions are available for students (3 days per week)
Full time salary is $425/week (Belmar) and $450/week base (Montclair) plus bonuses
