Kathy started her environmental career in 1974 and has worked on numerous local, state and national campaigns. She has worked for Clean Water Action over 20 years in a variety of capacities. She maintains an MPA from George Mason University and received her Bachelors from George Washington University. Before Clean Water Action, Aterno worked on Capitol Hill as Chief of Staff for former Congressman David Bonior (D-MI) and Congressman Bill Richardson (D-NM). During the first term of the Clinton Administration, Aterno worked for the EPA Administrator Carol Browner.

Cara Capp, South Flordia Community Organizer

Cara is double alum of Florida Atlantic University. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a concentration in Environmental Studies. In order to facilitate her goal of promoting sustainable communities and environmental justice, she went on to earn her Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning. During her graduate work, Cara's research focused on two topics: development of alternative transportation in Broward County, and sustainable college campus planning throughout the United States. She is excited to begin working with Clean Water Action and looks forward to promoting the protection of our state's resources and building healthier communities.
