Protecting our water resources and drinking water supplies has always been a priority for Clean Water Action. This is especially important with so many changes going on in Bucks, Montgomery, Lehigh, Northampton and Monroe Counties. Acres and acres of impervious surfaces are being created by out-of-control development while the frequency of destructive storms has increased the amount of flooding along the Delaware, Schuylkill and Lehigh Rivers and their tributaries. This one-two punch affects homeowners, businesses, drinking water quality and community health throughout the area.
In 2006, Clean Water Action, Pittsburgh joined forces with the Group Against Smog and Pollution (GASP) to reduce diesel emissions from all polluting sectors, including school buses, transit buses, trucks, waste haulers, construction equipment, locomotives, and marine vessels. That is one tall order! Since that time, we have had many successes.

On September 3rd, 2008, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed the addition of the BoRit Asbestos Site, located by the Wissahickon Creek at the intersection of Whitpain Township, Upper Dublin Township and Ambler Borough, to the Superfund National Priorities List (NPL).
