It’s been a busy year here at Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund continuing our fight to protect our lakes, rivers, and streams, and to ensure safe and affordable drinking water for all Minnesotans. We need your help today on Give to the Max Day to keep fighting for clean water!

There was widespread concern this year that the Minnesota Legislature would spend the legislative session putting our water, air, and public health at risk. The polluter-friendly majority confirmed our worst fears with secretive, behind-closed-doors decision making that was getting in the way of commonsense progress to protect Minnesotan’s health and water.

That’s why we worked with our partners to bring more than 1,000 Minnesotans to the state capitol for Water Action Day to meet with their lawmakers and advocate for the protection of Minnesota’s waters. We urged legislators to reduce polluted agricultural runoff, defend strong drinking water standards to protect our health, and promote Minnesota-produced renewable energy. Through our efforts and action from our members around the state we were able to successfully defend the 50 foot buffer law on agricultural lands and secure funding for the Forever Green program at the University of Minnesota.

We had another big victory during the legislative session to protect Minnesota kids. Following several reports of unhealthy levels of lead in Minnesota schools’ drinking water, Clean Water Action led the way on a bipartisan billed to make sure that all schools are testing for lead in drinking water at least every five years and developing plans to ensure our kids are not exposed to unhealthy levels of lead while learning at school.

Over the last 35 years here in Minnesota we have had great victories because of members like you! We need your support more than ever to keep making progress into 2018. With your support, we will be able to continue to clean up corporate agriculture, protect the Great Lakes, protect our health from harmful toxic chemicals, and ensure our schools are healthy environments for learning for our kids.

We just need you. Give to the Max today for clean water - make a donation so Clean Water Fund has the resources we need to defend our water and our health.
