I hope that you and your family are well and that you are staying healthy. We understand the challenges we're all facing right now while dealing the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis. And we know that has to come first.

Our priority is the health and well-being of members like you, our volunteers, the communities we serve, and our staff. We believe we have a responsibility to help “flatten the curve” of COVID-19 to protect our neighbors. For this reason, Clean Water Action has temporarily suspended all of our door-to-door outreach programs during this crisis. This was a difficult decision, but the most responsible course of action for our staff and the communities we work in.

We’ve also limited access to our offices and most staff are working via phone and video conference. Similarly, we will cancel or postpone special events, conferences, and other in-person gatherings scheduled for this spring. If you have registered or purchased tickets for an event, we will communicate with you separately and specifically about next steps and rescheduling.

These decisions have been the most difficult I’ve had to make as Clean Water Action’s CEO. We know this will impact some of our campaigns, and we know that it will especially impact some of our staff. We plan to communicate separately and soon about where we go from here and how you can help.

But the one bright spot for me is that our work to protect our water will continue. Our team is always ready to get creative to bring together communities and take action. We’re organizing over the phone and via video conference with our allies, and we’re finding ways for our members and the public to continue to advocate for our communities. We’re thinking through virtual lobby days and educational webinar series. And we’re making plans to mobilize clean water voters however we can to make a difference in November.

But right now, we’re thinking about you, our staff, and everyone impacted by this public health crisis. The bottom line is this – we’re all in this together.
