Tell your legislators to stop the use of “non-essential” PFAS in food packaging, consumer products, and fire fighting foam.
Right now we are working to ban certain consumer products that contain PFAS chemicals. Do you know what PFAS is? PFAS is:
- That non-stick coating on pots and pans, and other consumer products.
- A toxic forever chemical that cannot be safely incinerated or landfilled for disposal.
- A class of chemicals linked to harmful effects like cancer, hormone disruption, and developmental issues.
Next year, Senator Sarah Elfreth and Delegate Sara Love are submitting legislation to ban certain products containing PFAS. We are working on generating support for this bill when the next legislative session begins in January 2022!
