Tell Congress: Protect the Great Lakes & the People Who Depend on Them!

Great Lakes as seen from space

Last year, Congress made important progress on protecting the Great Lakes with the passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021. While the bipartisan infrastructure bill is an important down payment, it is not enough. Great Lakes states alone need an estimated $188 billion over the next 20 years for their water infrastructure needs. And many of the impacts of failing infrastructure are felt disproportionately by communities of color and low-income communities around the region, including unaffordable water bills and exposure to lead.

The Great Lakes are an incredibly most important resource, providing drinking water to millions of Americans and driving the regional economy. Write your members of Congress today and ask them to support and fund legislation that will protect the Great Lakes and the people who depend on them.
