The Florida Legislature is in full swing with the end of session looming on March 9, 2018. As in past years, there are bills on critical water and protecting local government rights sitting in Committee with the clock ticking.
In January, Lawmakers and the Governor passed a major water policy law. Though the new law is flaunted by state lawmakers as a strong policy that will protect springs and dedicate money for water, there are several weaknesses.

We, the below-signed organizations and businesses committed to the restoration of America’s Everglades and the protection of all of Florida’s water resources write to express our concerns and opposition to the use of Deep Injection Wells (DIWs) within the Lake Okeechobee Watershed as part of Everglades Restoration.
