Safer Chemicals for Maryland

Toxics used in Maryland’s crops and food have continually increased over the past years, and the use of more harmful and toxic pesticides has become common. Clean Water cofounded the Smart on Pesticides campaign and has worked for years to reduce sources of toxic exposures in Maryland communities.

Last night marked the end of Maryland's 2017 legislative session. This was a wild three months in Annapolis, but we were there for it all, campaigning for our priority issues, adding a few more, and making sure that we were an active voice for clean water throughout.

On Saturday March 19 the Pollinator Protection Act passed the House of Delegates with a strong bipartisan vote of 96-39. The House language is a clean, strong bill with no weakening amendments.
