After completing a study abroad course on sustainability her senior year of college, Lauren found her passion in protecting our natural resources and inspiring others to take action in the same. She graduated with her BA in Human Resources from Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and went on to complete two AmeriCorps service terms. Her first term was spent in San Jose, California with urban forestry non-profit, Our City Forest, where she was the Volunteer Coordinator and School Planting Project Coordinator on the Community Planting Team. After her year in California she moved back to Minnesota to serve a second term with the Winona County Planning and Environmental Services Department as a Minnesota GreenCorps member with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. There she focused on implementing stormwater best management practices such as rain gardens. Through education and engagement activities Lauren helped each community she served become more resilient to climate to change. Lauren joined Clean Water Fund in February, 2019 as a Program Organizer, focusing on sustainable food production. She is excited to continue inspiring individuals and communities to make positive changes in regards to our environment and the protection of our precious natural resources.
