Clean water is the foundation for healthy & prosperous communities. While our nation has made significant progress since the 1970’s in cleaning up many of our rivers, bays and other vital water resources, we still face significant water quality and quantity challenges. Drinking water sources are threatened by pollution and overconsumption, and some of these threats are made worse by climate change.
How we think about water infrastructure is about to change! Last year President Biden signed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) into law.
We can and should do more to put the Clean Water Act to work to protect our drinking water. That’s where the Source Water Collaborative comes in.
We’re doing a happy dance! Next week, we are celebrating our 50th birthday and the 50th anniversary of the Clean Water Act - which our founder, the late David Zwick, helped to craft and pass in 1972.
