It's Earth Week—and we’re dealing with the Covid 19 pandemic. These are unsettling times. The Covid 19 virus has, in a matter of weeks, shut down the global economy, wreaked havoc on human lives, stressed healthcare and essential workers, tested us all as we quarantine, cancel graduations and important celebrations, shift our work online and required people across the globe to stay at home.
If you have read the news recently, you have probably seen an article or two about a recent study of the “Great Pacific Garbage Patch”.
The days are getting longer, the birds are beginning to chirp, and the weather is warming up which means Earth Day is right around the corner.
This year, Clean Water Action is celebrating Earth Day by partnering with our friends at the Minneapolis Parks Board for a cleanup day at Bassett Creek Park.
What better way to celebrate our Earth than by joining together with neighbors and friends to clean up a park so dear to our hearts?
Join us on Saturday, May 12th from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Bassett Creek Park, located at the SW corner of Morgan Ave. N. and Chestnut Ave.
"Fighting to leave this world a better place by making the best of what we got," is a driving force behind Clean Water Action's Earth Week Hero, David Tykulsker.
David has been at the heart of our organization since he joined the New Jersey Board in the 1980s. In 2005, he became the National Board of Clean Water Action, a position he still holds today.
Everyday is Earth Day here at Clean Water Action. Whether you take small or big steps to protect the Earth, your actions collectively add up to make a difference! We are excited to be a part of an amazing environmental community in New Jersey and nationwide. Together, we are working together to ensure clean water, clean air, and our health is protected now and into the future. After all, there is no Planet B! Please join us at the following upcoming events to make your voice matter and actions count!
