No Meadowlands Power Plant! No More Fossil Fuel Projects!
On February 15th, join us for a rally and press conference to stop the Meadowlands Power Plant proposal!
We'll be updating the public and media on our rapidly growing movement of towns and elected officials who are coming together to protect their communities from this dirty, dangerous and unnecessary proposal. We'll also be announcing a new campaign uniting communities all over NJ to call on Governor Murphy to protect our health, safety and safe climate future by enacting an emergency moratorium on all new fossil fuel projects.
The press conference will take place from 12-1 pm at the base of our new billboard (pictured above) at 279 Bergen Turnpike in Ridgefield Park. The billboard is right across from the existing PSE&G gas power plant in Ridgefield Park, less than one mile from the location of the proposed Meadowlands Power Plant in North Bergen Twp. The proximity of the PSE&G plant is a reminder that our region already suffers from heavily polluted air, rated an "F" by the American Lung Association for prevalence of ground level ozone. The last thing our communities need is another major source of ozone and other toxic pollution that will further harm our public health and environment.
Join us to learn the latest developments and upcoming actions in our campaign to stop the Meadowlands Power Plant and win a moratorium on new fossil fuel projects in New Jersey until the Murphy administration implements it's plan to uphold the Paris Climate Treaty and transition NJ to 100% clean renewable energy.
