Clean Water Action Endorses Julia Pulver for Michigan’s 39th State House District

Wednesday, June 17, 2020

LANSING- Today, Clean Water Action announced its endorsement of Julia Pulver for the Michigan State House.

“As a nurse, Julia has seen the effects of lax environmental laws on public health first hand," said Mary Brady-Enerson, Clean Water Action Michigan Director. "She understands the necessity of protecting our lakes, rivers, and streams, and ensuring that every Michigan resident has access to affordable and clean drinking water,” concluded Brady-Enerson.

In the general election, Pulver will be facing current State House Representative Ryan Berman who recently co-sponsored a resolution asking the federal government not to give Michigan funding to help fill budget gaps in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Pulver plans to prioritize rebuilding our water infrastructure and protecting public health. Her opponent on the other hand voted to keep polluter panels in place which give corporations oversight of the Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy.

“With climate change continuing to progress, drinking water contamination issues across the state, and a worldwide pandemic that has highlighted environmental injustice, there has never been a more critical time to elect lawmakers who value protecting our water and public health. Our state is defined by water, and we know that Julia Pulver will stand with us to ensure that every Michigan resident has access to clean, safe, affordable water,” said Brady-Enerson. “We are proud to endorse her campaign for the 39th State House district and look forward to working with her as a representative. The choice is clear – Julia Pulver for Michigan State House.”
