Clean Water Action Endorses Matt Koleszar for State House District 20

Wednesday, April 29, 2020

LANSING- Today Clean Water Action announced its endorsement of Matt Koleszar for Michigan’s 20th State House District.

“As a former teacher, we know that Representative Koleszar cares deeply about protecting future generations and giving them tools for success. He has carried that passion into working to protect our Great Lakes and vast water resources for future Michiganders through his outstanding advocacy in the State House," said Mary Brady-Enerson, Clean Water Action Michigan Director. "Matt Koleszar has shown that he will always stand by his constituents and work to protect and preserve our environment for years to come.”

In the 2019-2020 legislative session, Representative Koleszar introduced legislation to require air pollution permits be denied if a municipality determines the increased pollution will cause adverse health effects to the public. He also co-sponsored the repeal of Michigan’s No Stricter Than Federal law and has been one of the most outspoken advocates in the legislature for decommissioning Enbridge Energy’s Line 5 pipeline.

“Representative Koleszar has established himself as a lawmaker who can be trusted to put the health of his constituents and protection of our water first,” said Brady-Enerson. “We are proud to endorse Representative Koleszar’s reelection bid – and look forward to continuing to work with him in 2021 and beyond.”
