Washington, DC – Clean Water Action announced the launch today of an ambitious new partnership with Seventh Generation, a leading household and personal care environmentally conscious products company, aimed at protecting clean water and reducing water pollution, with a special emphasis on clean, healthy drinking water for all communities.

The announcement coincides with the launch of a new line of Seventh Generation personal care products, Seventh Generation Not Just Body Wash™ and Seventh Generation Not Just Deodorant™ sales of which will benefit Clean Water Action’s outreach, organizing and advocacy programs focused on the partners’ shared clean water goals.

“We are excited to join with Seventh Generation to increase awareness, action and real-world progress on some of today’s most pressing water challenges,” said Clean Water Action President and CEO, Bob Wendelgass. “Seventh Generation’s growing market reach and role as a sustainability business leader, its aggressive commitments to reduce water and climate impacts, and its achievement of Made Safe certification for the new personal care products line add power and credibility to our work together.”

Between Seventh Generation’s growing consumer base and Clean Water Action’s grassroots outreach programs, the partners expect to reach one million or more households and engage tens of thousands of new people in campaigns to protect clean water in the U.S. “Too much of our water is still not safe for fishing, swimming and drinking,” Wendelgass says. “More action is needed immediately to reduce pollution and protect people’s health, yet federal clean water protections are actually under assault today, along with other environmental and climate safeguards.”

Clean Water Action and Seventh Generation released this statement of purpose for the partnership:

Protecting Clean Water: Clean water is the foundation of healthy communities. We will educate, inspire and mobilize people across the country, through individual and collective actions to protect clean water, now and for future generations.
