Clean Water Action Rhode Island - The Place to Be

June 8, 2018

I’ve spent my entire life living in Rhode Island. I’ve grown up here, gone to school here, spent most of my time here, and ultimately been influenced by this place. Remaining in the state or leaving indefinitely both seem like equally plausible scenarios, considering my age and the line of thought that encourages young people to go out and find opportunities. However, this decision has been made more difficult for me because of experiences that have shifted my perspective on what it means to stay within the state.

Activism & Inspiration at Clean Water Action's 32nd Annual Conference

May 7, 2018

We are still reeling from our conference that happened last weekend, Saturday, April 28th at The Wardlaw+Hartridge School, in Edison. We enjoyed sharing the work we are doing to protect New Jersey’s environment and appreciated learning about the organizing people are doing to make a difference in their communities. Check out the conference photos here!

A Millennial's First Political Rally - Providence Women’s March

January 23, 2017

On Saturday, January 21st, I attended my very first political rally - the Providence Women's March. I honestly had no idea what to expect. My friend and I arrived at the South Lawn of the State House an hour early and were relieved to see a throng of pink-clad women and men meandering past tables displaying signs for recognizable social action groups. An hour later, the gathering would manifest itself into a powerful assemblage of people who collectively had a lot to say.

Lisa Plevin, Chief of Staff for EPA Region 2, is one of us – a former door to door canvasser and community organizer of Clean Water Action. Lisa is essentially a Jersey Girl, having moved to New Jersey at age six, graduated from Stockton College in 1981 and immediately started her environmental career.
